The transition into a new energy production and usage era has seen a substantive movement into renewable energy sources such as wind, solar and wave energy. Many examples of hydrogen production, processing, storage and transport are currently in play.
In particular, transport is responsible for substantive carbon emissions. In contrast, smaller vehicles have demonstrated to use electric batteries; larger vehicles are much harder to decarbonise owing to the increased size and weight of the batteries needed.
Notwithstanding this, by using hydrogen fuel cell technologies, it is possible to decarbonise them using hydrogen as its power source in achieving zero-carbon.
Hydrogen is currently enjoying significant momentum in terms of research and development, projects, and technical, commercial and political advances around the world; with scale-up of technologies enhances substantial cost reductions to be made.
