Decades of research now point to Emotional Intelligence (EI) as the critical factor that sets star performers apart from the rest of the pack.  For example one meta-study published by the World Economic Forum found that 90% of top performers are also high in emotional intelligence. On the flip side, just 20% of bottom performers are high in emotional intelligence. You can be a top performer without emotional intelligence, but the chances are slim.

High emotional intelligence correlates with positive outcomes for leaders, teams and organisations.  It’s strongly tied with higher performance and earnings.  EI enables improved decision making, focus, teamwork, productivity and business networks; and reduces employee turnover, unhealthy conflict, and stress.

In this programme you’ll learn that EI can be developed, and how you can do this yourself.

We will use Daniel Goleman’s model of Emotional Intelligence, which consists of 4 domains and 12 emotional and social competencies.

  • Introduction to Daniel Goleman and Richard Boyatzis' Emotional Intelligence Model
  • Examining the power of Emotional Intelligence and its impact on performance
  • The latest neuroscience insights on EI and human behaviour
  • Exploring Self Awareness: the foundation of Emotional Intelligence, with theory and practical exercises
     

Day 2: Mastering Self Management

  • Understanding the Fundamentals of Self Management in Emotional Intelligence
  • Emotional Balance: Building responses to emotional triggers
  • Adaptability: Developing a mindset for embracing change
  • Positive Outlook and Achievement Orientation: Applying psychology to improve motivation and performance
     

Day 3: Developing Social Awareness

  • The critical role of Social Awareness in leadership and collaboration
  • Empathy: A structured approach to understanding others in professional settings
  • Organizational Awareness: Gaining insights into how your organization operates
  • Enhancing interpersonal relationships by applying Social Awareness
     

Day 4: Effective Relationship Management

  • Exploring Relationship Management competencies essential for leadership
  • Influence: Using Emotional Intelligence to influence others at various levels
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Cultivating leadership skills through EI
  • Inspirational Leadership, Conflict Management, and Teamwork: Practical applications of EI in leadership and team dynamics

  • Cultivating Habits of Mind for sustained EI growth
  • Delivering presentations and applying EI principles effectively in communication
  • Creating an Action Plan for continued personal and professional development of EI
