- Applied Petroleum Geology and Reservoir Petrophysics
This course is intended for professionals involved in petroleum industry that need to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge related to evaluation and investigation of oil and gas reserves. The programme includes the description of natural structures where the petroleum originated, petroleum formation process and methods used to quantify the economic advantage associated with well drilling.
Course Objectives
In this programme you will:
- Learn to identify and characterise different rocks and minerals
- Understand in detail how the petroleum has origin
- Learn about fluid flow, pumps and compressors, and mixing
- Discuss and interpret well logs
- Identify structures where petroleum is accumulating
- Apply quantitative methods used to estimate petroleum reserves
Who Should Attend?
This course is intended for professional that are working or will work within Oil & Gas sector, in particular in upstream operations. These will include geologists, geoscientists, petrophysicists, petroleum engineers, reservoir engineers, trainee engineers, managers and economists. Case studies and examples will cover a range of levels, making the course also suitable for non-technical staff, however a basic knowledge about Oil and Gas industry is preferable.
