Strategic Stakeholder Leadership: Influencing Outwards and Upwards in the Public-Safety Arena Course in Istanbul

Senior public-safety leaders spend most of their time influencing people they cannot command: ministers, partner agencies, event organisers, the media and the public. This five-day programme develops the strategic influencing, stakeholder leadership and high-level communication skills that senior public-safety roles demand.

It covers the theory of influence, power and stakeholder dynamics, then the practical craft: chairing high-stakes meetings, briefing and persuading senior decision-makers, building multi-agency coalitions, and holding your position with authority and credibility.

It is designed for leaders who must deliver through relationships, not rank. Delivered over five days, the course carries 20 CPD hours and is available as a classroom or in-house programme.

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

• Understand the dynamics of influence, power and stakeholder relationships at senior level
• Map and manage complex stakeholder environments across government, agencies and the public
• Influence upwards by briefing, persuading and challenging senior decision-makers with credibility
• Influence outwards by building coalitions and coordinated action across partner organisations
• Chair and lead high-stakes meetings, boards and coordination groups
• Communicate with authority under scrutiny, including with media and the public
• Build and protect institutional legitimacy and public confidence
• Navigate competing interests and reach defensible, collective decisions
