In today’s evolving workplace, women in leadership face unique challenges, and bring powerful perspectives. Unmute: Women, Emotions & Leadership is a dynamic, evidence-informed program designed to empower current and aspiring female leaders to lead with authenticity, emotional intelligence, and confidence.

Through self-awareness, emotional agility, and practical leadership tools, this course creates space for honest reflection and real-world application. Participants will unpack gendered expectations, explore their leadership identity, and learn how to navigate systems of power with clarity and intention.

Each day blends theory, storytelling, and experiential activities designed to engage the head, heart, and body. Participants will gain practical tools, deeper awareness of their emotional and leadership patterns, and a renewed sense of clarity, confidence, and purpose in their leadership journey.

This course is also available for delivery in Spanish, upon request.

Day 1: Emotional Intelligence & Gender Bias

  • Understanding emotional intelligence and gendered perceptions of emotion
  • Exploring how culture, upbringing, and media shape leadership expression
  • Recognizing microaggressions, emotional double standards, and unconscious bias
  • Reflecting on identity through an intersectional lens
  • Building empathy

 

Day 2: Self-Awareness Through the Female Lens

  • Exploring personal preferences and communication styles through a personality assessment
  • Exploring emotional awareness and internal narratives
  • Understanding how hormones and stress affect leadership and communication
  • Addressing taboos: menstruation, perimenopause, and menopause at work
  • Reflection on silence and visibility through hands on activities

 

Day 3: Self-Management & Inner Resilience

  • Navigating emotional triggers and choosing intentional responses
  • Building practical techniques for emotional regulation
  • Managing the inner critic and strengthening positive self-talk
  • Setting healthy boundaries to avoid burnout
  • Mapping strategies to stay resilient during uncertainty

 

Day 4: Relationships, Power & Impact

  • Leading with emotional intelligence in working relationships
  • Giving and receiving feedback with compassion and clarity
  • Understanding systems of power, hierarchy, and gender in the workplace
  • Recognizing visible and invisible dynamics that affect influence
  • Practicing peer coaching and role play for real-life challenges

 

Day 5: Integration & Leadership Reimagined

  • Reclaiming your leadership narrative and defining your personal vision
  • Exploring inspirational leadership models
  • Reflecting on values, influences, and the stories that shaped you
  • Completing a Leadership Action Plan to apply learnings
